Al Saud cancel a feminine program in Sanabis Town

September 10, 2007

On Saturday, the Saudi security forces canceled a feminine program hold in a religious hall (Hussainiyat of Kho'i) in Sanabis town  in al-Hasa .

The authorities called the  supervisor of the hall and forced him to sign a written pledge obliges him to stop the program .

It is worth mentioning that it is not the first time in which the Saudi regime canceled many religious celebrations organized by Shi'a people in the Eastern Province . These practices come under a sectarian campaign launched  by the Saudi regime against the adherents of Shi'a sect .

The Saudi authorities continued to restrict Shi'a religious practices in the Eastern Province, and Shi'a minority is still the subject of officially sanctioned religious discrimination.
