The Captured Human Rights in Saudi Arabia

 

   The results and effects of closing the mosques and Hussainiyats in Ihsaa in the early of 1421 H cause a lot of arrests , harassment and prohibiting the freedom of faith even in private homes .

 

   After the closure of these religious centers, the people were obliged to hold the Shi'a religious activities and rituals in their homes instead of the mosques and religious centers but the Regime arrested some of them and called others to warn them that they should not open their homes for such activities.

 

   We have mentioned in our previous statements names of many individuals who were arrested and sentenced to prison terms ranging from one to three months within the framework of religious persecution and denominational discrimination against the adherents of Muslim sects particularly the Shii ones, the action that  may put the country in sectarian intrigue which probably demolish the stability and security of the country .

 

   Sayyid Abdullah Hussein al-Nahwi, aged 38 , a religous scholar from al-Mubarraz town in Ihsaa was arrested by al-Mabahith al-`Amma (General Investigations) on 12 / 08 / 2000 .He was arrested because of his persistence on religious activities and  defense of religious rites which have been prohibiting by the Regime , and sentenced to fifteen days imprisonment.

 

   It is worth mentioning that Sayyid al-Nahwi who has been considered one of the most prominent scholars in the country who was previously arrested in the early of April 2000 in attempt to put an end to his religious activity .

 

In the same framework, the Saudi authorities arrested this week two citizens. They are:

1 . Mohammad al-Nweiser, from Jirin Village, Ihsaa.

2 . Abdullah al-Ali , from Halila Village, Ihsaa.

 

   On one hand, the resources of the (CDHRAP) inside the country stated that al-Jawf Jail, which witnessed a riot this week by the inmates in a protest at ill-treatment and poor services , was surrounded by a large number of armed forces expecting another riot between the prisoners and the officials of the jail who did not respond to the prisoners' demands.
