The
Captured Human Rights in Saudi Arabia
The results and
effects of closing the mosques and Hussainiyats in Ihsaa in the early of 1421 H
cause a lot of arrests , harassment and prohibiting the freedom of faith even
in private homes .
After the closure
of these religious centers, the people were obliged to hold the Shi'a religious
activities and rituals in their homes instead of the mosques and religious
centers but the Regime arrested some of them and called others to warn them
that they should not open their homes for such activities.
We have mentioned in our previous
statements names of many individuals who were arrested and sentenced to prison
terms ranging from one to three months within the framework of religious
persecution and denominational discrimination against the adherents of Muslim
sects particularly the Shii ones, the action that may put the country in sectarian intrigue which probably
demolish the stability and security of the country .
Sayyid Abdullah Hussein al-Nahwi,
aged 38 , a religous scholar from al-Mubarraz town in Ihsaa was arrested by
al-Mabahith al-`Amma (General Investigations) on 12 / 08 / 2000 .He was
arrested because of his persistence on religious activities and defense of religious rites which have
been prohibiting by the Regime , and sentenced to fifteen days imprisonment.
It is worth mentioning that
Sayyid al-Nahwi who has been considered one of the most prominent scholars in
the country who was previously arrested in the early of April 2000 in attempt
to put an end to his religious activity .
In the same
framework, the Saudi authorities arrested this week two citizens. They are:
1 . Mohammad
al-Nweiser, from Jirin Village, Ihsaa.
2 . Abdullah
al-Ali , from Halila Village, Ihsaa.
On one hand, the resources of the
(CDHRAP) inside the country stated that al-Jawf Jail, which witnessed a riot
this week by the inmates in a protest at ill-treatment and poor services , was
surrounded by a large number of armed forces expecting another riot between the
prisoners and the officials of the jail who did not respond to the prisoners'
demands.
