Who Combats the State's
Terrorism?
Saudi Regime ... A lot of
Religious
Persecution and
Repression for the Clerics of Islam.
As Al-Saud had come to power in
Arabian Peninsula, they began to set up the policy of sectarian discrimination
and religious persecution.
This policy reflects sheer
ignorance of the rule on which international norms have stood for a
considerable time.
All divine religions and
positive laws have stressed the respect of Man and the necessity of equality
between peoples which transcends the boundaries of nationality , race and sect.
As we live in a country whose rulers claim that
they are among those who have made the Qur'an and Islam as the institution and
method by which they rule, they tried to set up the policy of sectarian
discrimination and religious persecution.
It justifies its conduct by
saying that it was conveying the message of Islam, but the aim is to spread
hate and hostility among people and crumble the Islamic and national unity.
On the first day of the Islamic month of
Maharram 1421 H coinciding with 06/04/2000, which Shi`i adherents in
the country and other parts of the Muslim world annually commemorate the
martyrdom of Imam Hussein (P.B.U.H) , the grandson of prophet Mohammad
(P.B.U.H). They exploit the holiday of Ashura to hold the sessions of preaching
and guidance and to help people in their social problems.
On that bay, the Saudi regime closed down more than
seven Hussainiyat (where Shi'a conduct funeral ceremonies , weddings and other
religious services ) in Ihsaa in the Eastern Province , and among those
Husseyniyat which were closed down are:
1. Husseinyat al-Qa'im in
al-Mubaraz city, which is under the supervision of Sayyid Abdullah Sayyid
Hussein al-Nahwi.
2-
Husseinyat al-Nezha, in al-Mubaraz city . The supervisor is Sayyid Mohammad Ali
al-Hashim who is the most prominent Shi'i Scholar in the Eastern Province.
3-
Husseinyat al-Subtein in al-Shu'aba village.
4 -
Husseingat al-Qattan.
On one hand the Regime arrested
the citizen Nasir al-Nahwi the responsible of Husseinyat al-Qa'im on
10/04/2000.
It is worth mentioning that Saudi
regime closed down some Hussainyat last year in the same area and arrested
Sayyid al-Nahwi.
On the other hand , the
members of (al- Mabahith al-`Amma ) arrested the religious scholar Sayyid
Hashim Sayyid Mohammad al-Shakhs , aged 41, from al-Qarra village in Ihsaa, at
his house because he didn't complied with the undertaking that he had signed
under threat and torture which forced him to put an end to his religious
activities.
Sayyid
Hashim al-Shakhs is considered one of the most prominent scholars in the
country who has the main role to spread the religious awareness through making
public religious lectures, teaching and leading prayer.
It is note worth that
Sayyid al-Shakhs was arrersted by al-Mabahith al-`Amma in September 1996 . He
was exposed to a psychological and physical torture during the period of
detention . Then he was released in the end of 1998.
From
the dote of his release till his arrest yesterday, the Regime exercised severe
pressure and harassment against him to give up performing his duties as a
religious scholar to educate people and offer them guidance.
We address an open message
for all Muslim Ulama and all the educated personalities ,the propagandists of
liberty and human rights and every awakened conscience all over the world to
spare no efforts to stop the attack and indignity against clerics and the
centers of preaching and guidance.
We
also call them to exert pressure on Saudi government to release the hundreds of
religious scholars and youths who still labor under the severity of tyranny in
Saudi prisons and jails for more than five years.
