Two Religious Scholars from Ihsaa were arrested by Saudi Regime

On 06 / 02 / 1420 H coinciding with 21/ 05 / 1999 some members of al-Mabahith al-`Amma (General Investigations) in al-Kharas District of al-Mubrraz city arrested Sayyid Hassan Mohammad al-Yousif , aged 30, near his house when he returned from performing prayer. The action was carried out arbitrarily without informing him with the legal reasons and justifications of that measure.

Also, in Muneizela village of Ihsaa another group of al-Mabahith al-`Amma have arrested arbitrarily Sheikh Habib al-Ahmad and deported him to its prison.

It is worth mentioning that the arrests of al-Mbahith al-`Amma are carried out unexpectedly without judicial warrant or legal justifications. The detainee is held in custody for months or years and is not informed or his family the reasons of the arrest or the period of the detention. He is also denied the opportunity to defend himself as well he is not subjected to a fair trial.

It is note worth that Sayyid Hassan al-Yousif and Sheikh Habib al-Ahmad have been called by al-Mabahith al-`Amma before several months and have been interrogated and warned that they should stop their religious and social activities within the framework of Regime's policy to restrain the religious activities that are not in conformity with the aims of the Regime's Religious Establishment which was established in the service of the Regime and to subject the religion in the service of the Regime's aims.

As we describe the tragic situation of the religious scholars in a country whose rulers claim that they are applying the Islamic Shari'a and keeping the interests of Muslims, we call on the Muslim jurists , scholars, intellectuals , the Islamic centers and personalities and the human rights organizations to unite with scholars and Shi'a adherents who are still held in Saudi prisons and jails .
