A wave of Detention of some Citizens
Including a Woman in the Eastern
Province of the Arabian Peninsula
As a result of the Saudi regime’s cruel campaign which have been unbroken for four years that aims to empty the internal arena from the scholars , teachers, engineers , university students and educated personalities of all society sectors who are active and effective in the field of propagating the religious and political awareness and conducting the social affairs of people, and as a result of the pressure on them that may repent their activities or sign undertakings that they should stop their activities, the Saudi regime still follows the hostile course and inhuman exercises against people but these terrorist measures don’t divert them to perform their natural right to practice their freedom which was plundered by the Regime. The Saudi Regime arrested during the last few days a group of citizens in Rabie`yah village (Tarout Island, Qatif) including: 1 - `Adel Ja`far al-Delili , aged 26, (teacher). 2 - Habib Ali al-`Atik , aged 26, (a private sector employee). It is worth mentioning that the latter was arrested twice in 1996 due to his religious activity. In the same village the members of al-Mabahith al-`Amma , within a measure lacks of Islamic and human traditions and morals, were raided the house of the citizen Sayyid Ibrahim Sayyid Yousif al-Hashim, and arrested him with his daughter in-law (Hakima al-Mutaw`), 22-year- old. They were detained in the quarter of al-Mabahith al-`Amma for two days without informing them the legal reasons of that measure. It is note worth that on 10/09/1998 an armed force from al-Mabahith al-`Amma was spread in the streets around Sayyid Ibahim’s house and raided it with a barbaric way , then they arrested Sayyid Monir Sayyid Ibrahim al-Hashim, a 30-year-old , an employee, without informing him with the legal reason of that measure. On one hand and in the field of detainees in Saudi prisons, who some of them still held incommunicado for three years without informing their relatives with the real reasons of detention, some former prisoners have reported our committee the decline of health situation of the detainees due to cruel torture that they have been subjected in the prisons of Dammam, Ihsaa and Reyadh. Finally we have a question which needs an answer from whom will be concern: How long will the Saudi Regime, which has the use of the immunity of the Reyal, Dollar and the commercial deals, exercise all kinds of terrorism and violations of human rights without inhibitive punishment or embarrassing pressure from this body or that? We hope of every awakened conscience, who undertakes the human rights, to spare no effort of saving what could be saved in Arabian Peninsula. |
